Comic Images

Mouse over shows title of comic and mouse click takes you to the source page where the comic image was ripped (in order to give credits to the owner of the source page).

Please note the following:

  • Due to most comic strips being ripped from US sites and hence updated when the US time zones turns into next day, Today's Comics will change to next day based on US Central Time (GMT-6 non-DST). However, if your local time changes date prior to that you will be able to manually scroll to next date.

  • The amount of days you will be able to scroll back to previous date's comic strips is depending on the archive at the source. Most sources only keep 30 days of archive.

  • The date as well as its format and language in the header is based on your local PC settings. Make sure the date and time on your PC is correct!

If you are running Windows 9x/2000/XP you can put Today's Comics on your Desktop by using Windows built-in Active Desktop features. This is configured in your Display settings which is found on all Windows versions by right-clicking on your Desktop and selecting Properties (same as Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display).

Then do the following in your Display Properties:

  • Windows 95/98/ME: Select Web tab, click New (select No if prompted to connect to the Active Desktop Gallery) and enter the URL below.
  • Windows 2000: Select Web tab, click New and enter the URL below.
  • Windows XP: Select Desktop tab, Customize Desktop, Web tab, click New and enter the URL below.

The URL to enter is http://mera.hacke.nu/comics/default.asp. When you then click OK you may select to customize if/when you want the page synchronized for offline use, or simply click OK. The synchronization can be configured later, default is 'Only when I choose Synchronize from the Tools menu'.

You should now have Today's Comics on your Desktop, although you need to move and resize the window.

More Comic Strips

If you do not find your favourite comic in the Today's Comics selection (on the settings page) but you do find it somewhere else on the Internet (where it is updated daily), then feel free to request it to be included in the collection by sending an email to hacke@hacke.nu. Make sure to include the link!

Note, however, there are requirements on what format the comic strip must be provided in, and in any case, there is no guarantee your request can be fulfilled.

The following is a list of Comic portals/pages on the Internet, of which some have been used as a source to Today's Comics.

Copyright and Disclaimer

This service is free of charge.

It is not my intention to violate any copyrights by linking comic strips from other sites. I do not copy or download any images, they are simply linked to, and I do name and credit the source by linking to the owner's/comic's source/home page of each comic strip.

Hence, due to images simply being linked to, this service is dependent on other services/servers being up and running in order for the comics to show. If the server linked to is down, so will the comic strip be.
